5 Summer Smoothie Recipes

There’s no feeling quite like taking a sip from a refreshing smoothie in the summer. Whether you’re lounging around the poolside in your favourite swimsuit and inflatables, heading back from a surfing session, or chilling out at home, these 5 simple summer smoothies are as healthy as they are delicious.  

  1. Tropical Brekkie

With all the vibrant colours of summer, this tropical brekkie smoothie recipe will instantly transport you to a beach somewhere sunlit and faraway.

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana

  • ½ cup of unsweetened coconut milk (or soy/almond)

  • 1 mango

  • 2 oranges

  • 1 cup of frozen pinapples

 

Optional: any of your favourite oats, granola, chia seeds, flax seeds or berries.

Cut up the fruit pieces and place into a blender along with your choice of seeds and berry toppings. Blend until smooth.

 

2. Peach Coconut Smoothie

Using only 2 ingredients, this light smoothie can be whipped up in less than 5 minutes.

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of coconut milk, chilled

  • 1 cup ice

  • 2 large peaches

  • Fresh lemon zest to taste

Cut up the peaches and place in the blender along with coconut milk and ice. Blend until smooth and add some lemon zest over the top for a tangy taste.

 

3. Berry bursting smoothie

Filled with all the natural antioxidants and vibrant colours of berries.

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana

  • 1 cup of frozen mixed berries

  • 1 cup of almond milk

Add more almond milk as you go if the mixture is too thick. 

 

4. Summer fruit smoothie

The freshness of summer all in a glass!

 

Ingredients:

  • 150 gram pineapple, chopped

  • 1 cup of vanilla yogurt

  • ½ cup of ice cubs

  • 1 kiwi fruit, peeled and chopped

  • 1 banana, chopped

 Blitz away until smooth.

 

5. Banana and Peanut Butter Smoothie

As good of a combination as they are on a piece of toast.

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 1 tsp of peanut butter

  • 3 ice cups

Blend until smooth and frothy.
