IndusInd Bank, a prominent banking organization in India, recently announced that they will be partnering with Chelsea Football Club to bring Chelsea football merchandise and opportunities to fans living in India. In the press release, Chelsea FC thanked their avid supporters in India and the globalization of the team.

IndusInd Bank is introducing a Chelsea branded credit card, the first ever football credit card available in India. By offering the card to Indian consumers, they hope to not only build brand loyalty to the bank and football team, but also offer exclusive merchandise to Chelsea fans through the partnership.

Cardholders will have the option of choosing between two different credit cards, each offering exclusive tie-ins with the Chelsea FC online store. Discounts on jerseys, footballs, and player meet and greets will be available soon.

Fans enrolled in the IndusInd program would also be regularly entered into drawings for what the bank calls "hospitality packages." These packages would include round trip airfare and tickets to see Chelsea play home games in England.

In addition to the team-related discounts, IndusInd is also offering rewards programs to customers whose spending habits qualify them for points or special offers. Depending on a customer's spending history, they may pre-qualify for point programs that would include discounts on Indian restaurants, films, personal care, and flights.

In the official statement made by Sumant Kathpalia, the president of the consumer banking division at IndusInd Bank, he said that he and the IndusInd Banking team are always looking for ways to build relationships with their audience. In regards to the new partnership with Chelsea FC, he said the company is extremely pleased with the product offering options of the new credit card.

Kathpalia went on to say that the cornerstone of IndusInd's success is that they've always tried to create products that are specially tailored to different market segments in India. The partnership with Chelsea will be no different. Giving customers a voice through the products they use builds customer loyalty, a valuable asset to both Chelsea and IndusInd Bank.

The announcement comes before a major match between Manchester City and Chelsea FC, the current leaders in the Premier League. Fans are anticipating seeing how the teams stack up against each other, as the teams' performance in this match may be an indicator of who will pull out ahead to win the Barclay's Premier League Championship later this season.

A home game for Chelsea, both teams are at a disadvantage because of missing players. While the under-supplied field may prove to be the weakness of both teams, fans are predicting a close match for the full 90 minutes.

Although Indian fans will be watching on television across the globe, players in the UK can still buy Chelsea tickets before it happens this weekend.

The last time the two teams met was in September, 2014. In a rigorous display of strategy, both teams scored in the final minutes of that match, ending in a 1-1 draw. Fans are eager for a rematch between these two powerhouses to settle the score.
