Everyone knows breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but sometimes it’s just so much easier to skip a breakfast or two just to squeeze in a bit more sleep. For those who lack an appetite in the morning, and simply can’t wake up that much earlier to cook a hearty breakfast, you may find healthy morning smoothies the most enjoyable and satisfying breakfast. It takes no more than a few minutes to whip up a tasty fresh smoothie before you head out the door to start off your day with a bang. You can prepare your ingredients the night before and store them neatly in your fridge, ready for you the next morning. The possibilities with smoothies are endless, but here’s a few delicious ideas to get you started.

Acai has become quite the famous berry in the healthy food world. Well known for its antioxidant rich properties, the immune stimulating and energy boosting fruit is often paired with a variety of fruits for a healthy snack. Combined with orange juice, banana, strawberries and chia seed, you can easily blend yourself a sweet and delicious smoothie for champions. You can leave your acai berries in the freezer to bring out when you have any more exciting new combination ideas.

What better way to start of the day than with a green as green can be, green tea smoothie. Green tea is another powerful antioxidant with a long list of health benefits. Many people find it hard to fit in the right amount of ‘greens’ consumption in a day. A quick and easy smoothie with spinach, white grapes, avocado, green tea and honey can be a refreshing fix to start off the day.

For those who need a bit more to fill their stomach in the morning, a protein smoothie would be a satisfying choice.
