Mobile snake displays
In recent years a new form of entertainment and education has emerged. It’s called the mobile reptile and snake show.
Yes, for decades there have been snake handler types travelling the agricultural show circuits and the like. But these were a different kind of animal.
These snake displays invariably had a man in a circular “pit” or defined area, handling deadly venomous snakes to the crowd’s amazement. In more recent years, there has been a greater emphasis on education, but when it’s all said and done, the public came to see the deadly snakes being handled at close range and in the hope that the handler may cop a bite.As it happens, serious and life threatening snakebites have become more common in recent years as modern handlers have dropped their standards safe in the knowledge that a bite is likely to be treated successfully with anti-venom.
In Australia, this has only been generally the case since the 1960’s and 1970’s.
The mobile reptile shows now making a run in Australia are generally show and tell outfits marketed at young children for kids birthday parties and similar party entertainment displays. These steer clear of the deadly snakes and instead concentrate on “nicer” reptiles such as harmless snakes, including big pythons, turtles, frogs and the mandatory crocodile, usually with the mouth held shut so it can’t bite off a kid’s penis or similar!
In other words both kinds of reptile shows are almost mutually exclusive.
Only one company in all of Australia has taken both models and merged them to create Australia’s best reptiles shows.
That of course is Snakebusters, the company owned by the snake man himself, Raymond Hoser.
The Snakebusters shows, trump all other deadly snake shows in the world, being the only ones on the planet to have the handler holding the five deadliest snakes in the world.
To make it even more significant, often all are held at once in the handler’s bare hands.
Ray Hoser was the first pesron on the planet to do this and besides himself and his staff, no one else has been able to copy the feat.
While this would normally be regarded as foolhardy, for Hoser and associates it’s not. You see in another world first Hoser pioneered surgery to safely and painlessly devenomize the deadly snakes, meaning all risk of serious bite is removed.
These snakes are now known in the trade as venomoid snakes, or venomoids and theyhave the added advantage in that they never need to brutally attacked with metal snake handling sticks ever again.
This in turn means the public love the Hoser shows as they are the best and safe, but of course all Hoser’s competitors hate him.
To undermine Snakebusters, the inexperienced imitators have made false claims such as Hoser’s snakes have regenerated venom, (they wish!), and other similar false statements.
The other thing that sets the Snakebusters mobile snake displays and reptile shows above all others in Melbourne, Victoria and the rest of Australia is that they alone let the kids hold the reptiles at parties, festivals, school incursions and other venues.
Show and tell mobile shows has instead become hands-on in the ultimate mobile reptile shows in Australia.
School teachers and other educators know the real advantages of hands-on education versus the old-style “chalk and talk” or using a whiteboard and are now lining up to book the best reptile display in Australia.
Besides the reptiles, the teachers get the company owned by Australia’s best-known reptile expert and the man who has named dozens of species of reptiles, including 9 of 15 known Death Adders, the world’s longest snake, rattlesnakes, cobras, rattlesnakes and more.
Remember, if it’s not Snakebusters doing a snake show at your venue or event, then it’s probably a risk!
