Reptile parties

Most children like wildlife and animals and reptiles are always among the more popular at parties.

While a small number have a fear of snakes and lizards, these days most are aware of the difference between the safe and unsafe kinds and in a party environment are more than happy to take the challenge of handling a reptile.

In the case of Melbourne Victoria Australia, Snakebusters have made such an impact, that it’s now rare for a child over the age of 7 not to have held a non-venomous snake at least once.

In the last 10 years, Snakebusters reptiles have been held by over 2 million people (OK we’ve double counted a few), giving you an idea of the scale of our reptile education.

This has been at kids parties, childrens events and other forms of educational incursions.

Snakebusters reptiles have been held at schools, child care centres and many major events and the upshot is that because it’s often done in a “monkey see monkey do” context, kids copy one another and usually every child (and adult) at the venue ends up hoplding the animals.

In Australia Snakebusters are the only wildlife display companmy that lets people hold the animals.  In recent years, newly licenced imitators have gone to considerable lengths to differentiate themselves from Snakebusters and have marketed themselves as being hands-off parties and events.  That is they are either “show and tell” or boring static displays.  That is, with reptiles in cages, where the handler confines themselves to answering questions from the people at the event.

In some cases, Snakebusters will find a group of kids who cannot maintain an interest in reptiles for an hour or more, which means we use other means to keep them entertained, be it exercises or competitions.

What it means is that for almost all kids, boys or girls, a Snakebusters reptile party is the best choice for guaranteed fun for the kids and any adults as well.

In terms of what we do that separates Snakebusters from the others, there are a few major things.

Firstly we are the only hands-on reptile parties in Melbourne.  This means we let kids hold the animals.

No one else does, it’s that simple.  As inferred already, most kids can’t get enough of this.  That is we have trouble getting the reptiles back off the kids after we’ve handed them to them.

Because we know what’s coming we also bring a lot of each kind of reptile to the event. That way all the kids can hold reptiles at the same time and without having to sit around getting bored and waiting for another kid to hand their reptile to them.

At parties, the reptiles come out in waves.  We vary the order depending on the group, what they want, whether or not they’ve seen us before and other variables.

Typically however, we do the lizards first, then the frogs and through the other animals ending up with the snakes.  While frogs and crocodiles are popular, we find the snakes are generally the reptiles the kids want to hold the most.

Young girls often want to hold the turtles, but because they tend to scratch with their claws, they soon decide they’ve had enough of them and want to try something that can’t scratch.  This means snakes!

Whenever snakes are displayed anywhere, it’s only a matter of time before the conversation turns to deadly snakes.  Questions like, do you have them? Have you handled them? Do we get to see some? arise.

Snakebusters are the only legal venomous snake show in Victoria, and not only that we have the world’s five deadliest snakes.

Better yet all the Snakebusters snakes are guaranteed safe as they have all been surgically devenomized, being the only such snakes (venomoids) in Australia.

So with Snakebusters, you get the deadliest snakes and guaranteed risk free.

Every year, expert snake handlers elsewhere get bitten and some die.  In 2011, 5 snake handlers killed by their snakes so far! On rare occasions members of the public cop venomous bites at displays through unforseen accidents.

None of this can occur at a Snakebusters show or reptile party and that’s why Deadly Snakes are standard at Snakebusters reptile shows.

This puts Snakebusters above all others in Australia and is one of the reasons we got the legally enforceable trademark “Australia’s best reptiles”.

In other words, if it’s not Snakebusters then it’s a risk!

In terms of kids parties, bragging rights goes to the children who have had a Snakebusters party.  After all, they are the ones who held the reptiles, rather than just looked at them.  They are also the only ones who saw the deadly snakes, and risk free.

Inexperienced imitators can’t match the standard.

In other words, in Melbourne, Victoria the children get the best kids parties with a Snake Busters reptile party.
